Lawton Tubes’ Wardtec acquisition brings product diversification, new jobs
- February 14, 2024
- News Release
- Tube and Pipe Production
Copper tube manufacturer and distributor Lawton Tubes, Coventry, U.K., acquired Wardtec Ltd., a manufacturer of water management products in Worcestershire, U.K., in May 2023. Since then, Lawton has diversified into a new product range and has established a foothold in the renewables and thermal energy storage markets.
Customers of Wardtec, which also produces and supplies bespoke copper, brass, stainless, and aluminum fittings and fixtures to the automotive industry, have access to Lawton Tubes’ buying power and the opportunity to purchase some of the standard products that Wardtec didn’t previously supply. And Lawton Tubes customers have access to bespoke products from Wardtec’s existing portfolio.
“We already had a strong 40-year relationship with Wardtec, so the acquisition made perfect sense from an operational, product, and shared values perspective,” said Giles Lawton, operations managing director at Lawton Tubes. “We have added new jobs in Redditch, and the combined engineering expertise is helping us deliver production efficiencies as we continue to work with strategic customers in both the U.K. and overseas.”
