Sub-arc welding viewing system operates in high-temperature, EMI environments

April 14, 2009

The XVC-S from Xiris Automation Inc. is designed for viewing sub-arc welding processes. It provides the operator with a real-time view of the weld during welding; acts as a setup tool to position the welding torch before welding; and can be used to adjust the welding position or parameters.

The system features a reference crosshair and an adjustable field of view and provides clear images, the company states. It has been engineered to operate in high-temperature, EMI environments.

With the system, the operator is removed from the direct weld area, helping to improve safety.
