Punch/laser combination features enhanced transition between modes

October 13, 2009

Amada's new LC-C1NT combination punch/laser machine has been engineered to reduce the time it takes to transition between modes. According to the company, the normal transition time of almost 5 seconds has been decreased to about 2.2 seconds, which can reduce run time per sheet by two or more minutes.

The Y-axis punch and laser positioning drive modules use digital, direct-drive servomotors, eliminating the need for gearboxes and increasing accuracy ±0.003 in., the company reports.

Continuous loop feedback monitoring helps ensure accuracy through long production runs.
