Friction material is nonabrasive

Tribco Inc. has developed a 100 percent Kevlar® fiber composite friction material for brake and clutch plates, brake pads, and shoes.

Patented as Braketex® and Clutchtex®, the facings are nonabrasive and do not score or wear down opposing metal surfaces, the company reports.
