Tempered steel designed to reduce deformation, stress cracking, brittleness

June 13, 2006

Blue Blade Steel says its tempered steel provides consistent, bendable, pliable materials and characteristics that help eliminate product failure from deformation, stress cracking, and brittleness.

The computer-controlled hardening and tempering process selectively modifies the internal steel structure to produce material with specialized performance characteristics. It eliminates secondary heat treating, which, according to the company, is the most common cause of distortion, irregular, and out-of-spec parts.

Pretempered high-carbon and alloy strip steel is offered in scaleless blue, polished blue, polished bright, and polished straw finishes.
