Metalcon show set

April 11, 2006

Metalcon Intl., Newton, Mass., has announced that its 2006 show will take place Oct. 3-5 in Tampa, Fla. This is the only annual international show dedicated to metal in construction.

This year 262 exhibiting companies will offer international visitors a variety of construction products, including architectural metals; building systems; painted and bare coils; computer software; concrete forms; roof curbs; doors and windows; fasteners; and equipment for folding, forming, and fabricating metal. A special area will be dedicated to "green" products, including roofing made from recycled materials, energy-saving reflective insulation, and thin-film solar electric modules.

A 36-session education program covers topics such as building with cold-formed steel, curved surfaces, roll forming, wall systems, aluminum structures, the basics of metal roofing, codes, insulation, and understanding sustainable guidelines.
