Band saw blade lines expanded

The L.S. Starrett Co. offers several new band saw blade lines.

Developed for cutting structural steels, sections, tubes, and small solids, the Versatix™ MP bimetal blade has a patent-pending tooth design that copes with the shock-loading conditions associated with intermittent cutting. This blade also is suitable for manual pull-down band saw machines that have variation in the feed rate.

Advanz™ carbide-tipped blades have a triple-chip carbide tooth selected for its toughness, shock, and wear resistance. The pitch selection has been revised to better align with today’s application requirements, the company reports.

The Advanz FS replaces the previous carbide-tipped Type I blade. It is suitable for use as a foundry saw, cutting aluminum castings and other materials. Replacing the carbide-tipped Type III blade, the Advanz TS blade was developed for cutting high-alloy metals and difficult-to-machine steels.
