The American Welding Society (AWS), Miami, Welding in Aircraft and Aerospace Conference will feature aircraft and aerospace industry experts. The two-day event, Sept. 16-17, will explore new products in the industry.
Primary discussion topics will include the critical benefits of using particular welding processes, including friction stir, fiber laser, ultrasonic, electron beam, and gas-shielded welding. Experts will discuss challenges associated with the growing role of titanium and the emergence of aluminum-lithium alloys. Event speakers serve companies and organizations such as Boeing, Eclipse Aviation, NASA, Sciaky Inc., Alcan Aerospace, and the Edison Welding Institute.
Additional in-depth program topics will include Potential Uses for Fiber Lasers in Aerospace Application; Electron Beam System Technology; High-powered Ultrasonics; Manufacturing and Repair of Nickel and Titanium; Development of the Third Generation of Aluminum-Lithium Alloys; Welding the Ares 1 Spacecraft; and Laser Weldbonding of Thin Aluminum Structures.
Conference registration is $550 for AWS members, $680 for nonmembers. Nonmembers receive a two-year complimentary AWS membership with registration. Registration includes all conference sessions, two continental breakfasts, and two lunches. Attendees will receive a CD with copies of all presentations and an attendee roster for postevent networking and follow-up.
