High-nickel alloy intended for GTAW, GMAW, submerged arc welding

Arcos Industries LLC has introduced the bare-wire and covered-electrode versions of the Arcos 617 high-nickel alloy, used primarily to weld nickel-chromium-molybdenum base material and to join various dissimilar high-temperature alloys.

Intended for GTAW, GMAW, and submerged arc welding, the bare wire version (ERNiCrCoMo-1) provides strength and oxidation resistance above 1,500 degrees F and can be used for overlay welding in which the welder desires a similar chemistry.

Designed to withstand pitting corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking, the covered electrode version (ENiCrCoMo-1) offers strength and high-temperature oxidation resistance from 1,500 to 2,100 degrees F, the company reports.

Applications for the alloy include heat exchangers, furnace components, gas turbine parts, pipelines, and industrial plants.
