Microwelding systems permit tool, die repair with minimal heat

NovaTech's microscope-based welding systems let users see exactly where a weld puddle is applied for repairing tools and dies with minimal heat.

The microwelding systems produce a weld with less than 0.0005 in. of sink in the heat-affected zone (HAZ), which allows welds to last longer and reduces rework, says the company. Users can get into tight areas and weld at a lower temperature, which helps prevent metallurgical damage caused by intense heat.

Featuring a microscope and lighting suitable for low-amperage miniature GTAW, the systems include a power supply, hot plates, microblasters, and the tools necessary for pre-and post-welding operations.
