Manufacturing Technology Inc. sends largest friction welding machine to Pratt & Whitney
Manufacturing Technology Inc. (MTI), South Bend, Ind., has shipped what it says is the world’s largest friction welding machine to aerospace company Pratt & Whitney.
The machine, which is 20 ft. tall and weighs about 400,000 lbs., will friction weld large-diameter aircraft engine components.
