ESAB filler metals meet Buy America requirements
ESAB Welding & Cutting Products, Florence, S.C., has announced that its welding filler metals meet the Buy America provision, making them eligible for use in public projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The company has launched a dedicated web page about the filler metals, which include flux-cored wire, stick electrodes, SAW wires, and GMAW wires, at www.buyamericabyesab.com.
The Buy America provision of the ARRA requires the use of U.S.-made products for projects funded by the U.S. government and procurements made by U.S. government agencies or the military. Buy America stipulates that filler metals made from steel be made with steel melted and manufactured in the U.S.
