Double-acting magnet offers precise pickup

Industrial Magnetics Inc. has added the TPLPDA to its Magnetic Transporter® LP line, designed to transfer ferrous steel blanks magnetically in a variety of stamping, transfer, and pick-and-place applications.
Engineered with rare-earth magnets that positively hold the part during transfer, the new double-acting version requires a short burst of shop air to activate or deactivate the magnet. This allows the magnetic field to be turned off, thereby offering precise pickup on the part with minimal air consumption, the company reports.
