CNC Tool Grinding System
- March 1, 2009

ANCA has recently introduced the MX7, a next-generation CNC grinding system designed for high flexibility and quick changeover to accommodate smaller batch sizes with high volume capability for production houses.
The MX7 can manufacture unattended a variety of tools up to 16mm (5/8") diameter and offers 10 second automated wheel exchange and 10 second workpiece change with its integrated loader.
Its high output, enhanced flexibility and quick changeover assures efficiency and support for lean manufacturing principles; and it does this at an attractive investment for faster ROI, according to the company.
The ultimate goal of the MX7 is to deliver precision grinding at lower cost. It does so with a range of features within its compact footprint. Six standard HSK 50 wheel packs offer production flexibility and the potential for unattended productivity.
Also, a newly developed permanent magnet 20kW/27 HP (S1) 10,000 RPM spindle that delivers high torque at lower RPM, makes the MX7 particularly well suited for carbide grinding applications. Due to the lower current draw, less heat is generated and therefore less expansion resulting in energy efficient operation and even greater accuracy.
The integrated pallet loader too has been designed to reduce set-up time and boost productivity by changing tools within 10 seconds.
Productivity on the MX7 can be further enhanced using the MLX Loader. Designed for maximum productivity with minimal set-up time and a 10 second tool change time, it gives a big boost to productivity. The integration of the loader into the machine base also ensures repeatable loading to go along with the one gripper set for loading, reducing set-up time.
Additionally, MX7 will be available with other features such as a high-speed headstock for wheel dressing, traveling steady and secondary side dresser.
