Mate offers a complete range of Salvagnini-style Type II and Type III tooling in a newly published 28-page catalog. Also available and in stock are Type 70 and 90 tooling, fully guided assemblies, and PU and PB forming assemblies.
Manufactured from powdered metal-based, high-speed steel, the punches have high abrasion resistance, high antigalling properties, and excellent hot and red hardness, the company states.
Perforating strippers are fully guided, with a design that supports the punch point throughout the punching cycle. They are made of high-strength tool steel that will not deform or break.
Dies are made of high-speed tool steel, with Slug FreeĀ® dies available as an option for Type III stations at no additional cost. The dies come in a variety of standard and special shapes to a customer-specified clearance.
Special assemblies are available for Type III tooling to perform slitting, shearing, multiple parts on sheet (shake-and-break), and tabbing functions. Available special assemblies include threadform, louver, beading, embossing, stamping, knockout, and cluster punch assemblies.
