Magnetic-bed drag flight conveyor removes fine, chips from coolant

Jorgensen’s Mag-Drag® magnetic-bed drag flight conveyors are designed to remove broken or fine cast-iron or steel chips from coolant in metal cutting applications.

Steel and cast-iron chips and fines flow with the coolant onto the load section of the conveyor. Gravity causes larger chips to settle to the bottom, while finer chips (still in suspension) are attracted by a series of magnets located underneath the conveyor. All of the chips then are conveyed out by the drag cleats.

The conveyors are suitable for use in chip removal, coolant filtration, plasma cutting, sawing, and feeder/transfer applications. They can be custom-engineered to meet specifications for length and width, with cleated belt sizes of 1.5- and 2.5-in. pitch and with a choice of belt designs, drive systems, safety equipment, and controls.
