Abrasive products upgraded with zirconia alumina grain

Saint-Gobain Abrasives has implemented an upgrade across its "Better" tier of Norton metal fabricating abrasives products for portable grinding applications. Products in the tier now are sub-branded as Norton BlueFire and feature a new NorZon zirconia alumina grain with properties that enable up to 30 percent better performance compared to the previous product, according to the company.

Currently fiber discs; flap discs; coated abrasive belts; and portable wheels, cones, and plugs have been upgraded to the new grain. Charger™ depressed-center and cutoff wheels and NorZon paper discs, nonwoven wheels, and quick-change discs for portable grinding applications will be upgraded to the new grain over the next several months.
