Apex Tool Group names CEO

Apex Tool Group LLC, a provider of industrial hand and power tools based in Sparks, Md., has named James J. Roberts as CEO and a member of the board of directors. Thomas Wroe Jr., previous CEO and chairman of the board, will continue to serve on the board of directors as executive chairman.

Roberts has more than two decades of tool industry experience. He previously served as CEO of The Chamberlain Group, held senior executive positions at Newell-Rubbermaid, and was president of Worldwide Hand Tools and Hardware at The Stanley Works. Before that he spent 19 years at Black & Decker, including serving as president of Worldwide Accessories. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Delaware.
