Wilson Tool celebrates 50 years in business

Wilson Tool Intl., a manufacturer of tooling systems for punch presses, press brakes, and punch and die components for the stamping industry, will mark its 50th year in business on June 2, 2016.

The company was founded by Ken and Ruth Wilson as The Wilson Tool Co. in a basement shop in St. Paul, Minn. Ken Wilson received his first patent in 1969. To date, the company has been granted 56 patents.

The company now has 350,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space in White Bear Lake, Minn., along with an R&D division, business offices, international sales desk, and the Well at Work employee wellness center. Through numerous acquisitions and expansions, it has grown to include offices and plants in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, England, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, and China. All office locations and manufacturing centers of the firm’s global operations will hold celebrations on June 2-3. Part of the celebration will be the debut of a Living History Center (LHC) at company headquarters, a museum that features the firm’s past and present innovations.
