Planit acquires Pathtrace

Planit Holdings plc, Tuscaloosa, Ala., has acquired Pathtrace plc, developer of EdgeCAM software that automates the process of NC programming for metal cutting machine tools.
Planit says the acquisition is a significant step in its CAM consolidation strategy. The addition of Pathtrace provides a development in the engineering arena, and with offices in the U.K., U.S., China, and Japan, along with a global distribution network, provides additional routes to market for Planit's CAM products.
