BEPeterson supplies research vacuum chamber for SPIRou project
High-volume contract manufacturer and custom metal fabricator BEPeterson Inc., Avon, Mass., has been selected as the research vacuum chamber manufacturer for the SPIRou instrument.
The SPIRou instrument will be an infrared spectropolarimeter and velocimeter operating within a cryogenic environment at an elevation of 13,780 ft. The instrument—being developed by a partnership of multiple countries—will be installed in Hawaii at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) on Mount Mauna Kea.
