James Tool Machine & Eng. adds additive manufacturing technology

James Tool Machine & Eng. Inc., Morganton, N.C., a provider of precision CNC machining and builder of hydraulic workholding fixtures, now offers additive manufacturing technology.

The company now offers fused deposition modeling (FDM) using ABS plastic in-house, direct metal laser sintering (DMLS), selective laser sintering (SLS), stereolithography (SLA), and polyjet technologies through its additive manufacturing service partners.

Additive manufacturing technology allows parts to be made using polymers, light metals, stainless steel, tool steel, and superalloys. Designs are submitted digitally, and the need for tooling is reduced or eliminated.
