Metal Cutting Corp. adds lathe

Cedar Grove, N.J.-based fabricating company Metal Cutting Corp. has acquired a Haas OL-1 lathe for producing very small lathe-turned parts. The machine is designed for such applications as dedicated small-part production, second-operation parts, short runs, and rapid prototyping.

The lathe features a 7.5-HP servo drive and 6,000-RPM spindle, gang-style tooling, and a CNC for ISO standard G-code programming. Maximum cutting diameter is 4.95 in., maximum bar diameter is 1.06 in., maximum torque is 6.7 ft.-lbs., and maximum cutting rate is 500 IPM.
