Sept. 23 workshop to teach manufacturers how to turn waste into profit

According to the U.S. EPA, more than 250 million tons of waste is generated by homes, schools, hospitals, and businesses each year in the U.S., and more than half ends up in landfills.

Manufacturing executives can learn how to help reverse this trend and make their company’s operations more sustainable, ecofriendly, and profitable by attending the Sustainable Manufacturer Network’s Zero-Waste-to-Landfill Workshop Sept. 23 in Wilson, N.C. A presentation and plant tour at Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations facility will provide attendees the opportunity to see a zero-waste-to-landfill program in action.

Cost to attend the event is $395. SMN members can attend for $245. To register, visit www.sustainablemfr.com/events or call 888-394-4362.
