Reshoring to Kentucky in Balluff’s Global Production Plan

With the 2014 completion of Balluff's new customer support and training center in Florence, Ky., space is available for expansion in the company’s original location in Florence. The company will focus on local production of linear transducers and encoders. “By 2016 production hours in the Kentucky facility will increase 140 percent,” according to Florian Hermle, global managing director and owner.

“The goal of bringing production to Kentucky is to ensure short lead-times and reliable, on-time delivery with made-to-order products,” said Hermle. The facility serves as the company’s North American distribution and warehouse center, processing up to 110 line items per hour with one operator.
