Here is a list of current events.

The mid-year review of CAFE standards is quickly approaching. These deadlines have led manufacturers to find new processes to further help reduce weight and improve materials and their resulting assemblies. New grades of high-strength steel are key to this process, as they provide strength, are lightweight, and enable more cost-effective manufacturing.

These advanced materials also require increased performance of the stamping and forming tools, which presents a new set of challenges. At the Steel Market Development Institute’s (SMDI) Great Designs in Steel 2015, you’ll learn how the steel industry is exploring alternative options, such as laser and GMAW techniques, that allow steel to be cut efficiently and with new designs, as well as materials that prevent wear and deformation of dies.

Ralph Gilles, head of design for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V., is the keynote speaker for the event.
