coil car

 noun

Definitions

  1. Machinery which moves a coil by lifting it from the bottom instead of through the center of the coil. Unlike other material handling equipment, a coil car has a limited range of motion because it travels on floor rails to move coils from point to point. A coil car is used to put a coil on or take a coil off a mandrel.
