die accelerator

Definitions

  1. A component of the die assembly which increases the speed of the die to equal the speed of the tube as the tube travels to the mechanical press to complete the cutoff cycle. When the cycle is complete, the die accelerator stops the die and reverses direction to bring the die to its resting position.
