roll

 noun

Definitions

  1. The principal metalworking tool that is mounted on weld tube mills and roll formers. Rolls contact the metal strip as it enters the process. They provide both the friction to pull the strip through the mill, and the necessary contours to change the shape of the strip into the desired finished piece.
