Definitions

  1. Flanging is a forming or bending operation that results in a 90-degree bending of the metal. When the breakline of the bend is smaller that the developed trim line, the operation is referred to as shrink flanging; when the breakline is greater than the developed trim line, the operation is called stretch flanging.
