Definitions

  1. Flanging is a forming or bending operation that results in a 90-degree bending of the metal. When the breakline of the bend is greater than the developed trim line, the operation is referred to as stretch flanging; when the breakline is smaller than the developed trim line, the operation is called shrink flanging.
