Ace Metal Crafts moves headquarters

After 51 years in the same location in Franklin Park, Ill., Ace Metal Crafts has moved to an 82,000-sq.-ft. plant in Bensenville, Ill. The company performs stainless steel fabrication, using laser cutting, forming, welding, sanitary finishes, and value engineering.

The move to a much larger plant has given the company greater capacity and the opportunity to set up equipment for optimal job flow from receiving raw materials to laser cutting, to forming, to welding, to finishing, and finally to shipping.

The company also has added a new flat laser to its existing flat laser and a 3-D tube and pipe laser, as well as new welding stations. The expanded glass bead finishing area can be used either as two separate smaller rooms or as a single room that can handle large parts. The blasting area is located to help minimize travel time between processes.

The high bay, with capacity for a 10-ton crane, helps the company take raw materials from receiving directly to the machinery for processing. A pressure swing adsorption (PSA) nitrogen-generating system also has been added.

The expanded facility also allows the company to offer assembly operations to help customers outsource more of their internal operations.
