AK Steel announces aluminum coating extras price increase

AK Steel said today that it will increase prices for aluminum coatings by approximately 50 percent, effective with shipments on April 1, 2006. The premium is being added to the company's current pricing extras for all aluminized carbon and stainless steel products.

The company said that the increase is being made in order to recover the extraordinary rise in the cost of aluminum that is used to coat its aluminized steel sheet products.
