AK Steel announces January electrical, stainless surcharges

AK Steel has advised its customers that a $150 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in January 2007. January 2007 surcharges for the various stainless steel products that the company produces can be found on its Web site.

The surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the November 2006 purchase cost used to determine the January 2007 surcharges.
