AK Steel announces Oct. electrical, stainless steel surcharges

AK Steel has advised its customers that a $290 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in October 2006. October 2006 surcharges for the stainless steel products that the company produces can be found on its web site.

The surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the August 2006 purchase cost used to determine the October 2006 surcharges.
