Lincoln Electric appoints lead director

Lincoln Electric Holdings has announced that its board has modified its Corporate Governance Gudelines to provide for the annual appointment of a lead director to serve as a liaison between the chairman and independent directors. Harold L. Adams has been appointed to the position.
A board member since 2002, Adams chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and is a member of the Compensation and Executive Development Committee. He is chairman emeritus of RTKL Associates Inc. and a director of Commercials Metals Co. and Legg Mason Inc.
