Lincoln supplies equipment for television show

October 11, 2005

Lincoln Electric supplied the welding equipment used to fabricate parts for Lance Armstrong's Pontiac GTO® on The Learning Channel's (TLC) "Overhaulin" television show.

Show host and hot rod designer Chip Foose headed up the team working at the Colvin Automotive shop in Austin, Texas, to revamp the car using Lincoln's Precision TIG™ 185 welding machine, Pro Cut® 25 plasma cutter, and SP-135 compact GMAW machine.

To show his appreciation, Armstrong donated an autographed yellow Tour de France winner's jersey to Lincoln, which will auction it off to benefit a charity group soon.
