Clean Air America provides weld stations to Lincoln Land Community College

October 10, 2012

Clean Air America Inc., Atlanta, has provided seven Leaf Weldstations to Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC), Springfield, Ill., which offers welding operator and welding specialist certifications. The units are used to eliminate weld smoke and grinding dust from the welding training lab.

"Last year, LLCC added welding as a career offering on campus," said David Green, dean of business and technologies. "We chose Clean Air's Weldstation 5 because they are very quiet, do not require makeup air, and are only on when a student is using an individual welding cell, so we save energy."

The welding stations are housed in the new, 80,000-sq.-ft. Workforce Careers Center on the LLCC campus, which includes a new welding lab.

The completely self-contained welding booths are made of 100 percent recycled steel. A sleep mode engages automatically to save energy when the system sits idle for a certain time. No ductwork to the outside is required.
