AWS issues call for Image of Welding award nominations

The American Welding Society (AWS), Miami, has issued a call for entries in the 7th Annual Image of Welding awards program, which recognizes public initiatives and programs that promote the image of welding. The entry deadline is July 10.

The program, presented by the AWS, an organization dedicated to advancing the science, technology, and application of welding, and the Welding Equipment Manufacturers Committee (WEMCO), a standing committee at AWS, is open to all welding industry professionals. Awards are issued in the following categories: individual, section (AWS local chapter), large business (200 or more employees), distributor (welding products), educator, and educational facility.

All individuals, organizations, and groups may be nominated for multiple categories, and self-nominations are welcome. Winners will be honored at the Image of Welding awards ceremony, which will be held during the FABTECH® Intl. & AWS Welding Show in November in Chicago.

Nominations will be judged by WEMCO, which comprises executives of welding industry suppliers that work to promote the welding equipment market.
