Lincoln aids UA during instructor training program

The United Association (UA) and The Lincoln Electric Co., Cleveland, teamed up for the 53rd UA Instructor Training Program at Washtenaw County Community College, Ann Arbor, Mich. More than 1,800 UA members attended from the U.S. and Canada.

Courses in the training program range from plumbing and welding to first aid and public speaking. They were designed to help the UA instructors become better teachers.

Lincoln provided the equipment for UA instructors to train with and had employees involved in teaching or assisting the five different courses in GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and pipe welding.

The weeklong training program is part of the UA's instructor education program, which comprises five one-week sessions over a period of five years. Lincoln and the UA have been partners in training instructors since the program was launched in 1954.
