Matheson supports SkillsUSA competition

Matheson, Basking Ridge, N.J., recently participated in the annual SkillsUSA Championship Competition held in Kansas City, Mo. The company is the main sponsor of the welding competitions at the annual championships, which this year hosted more than 5,900 students participating in 94 contest events, including 260 contestants in the welding categories.

This year the company donated more than 400 hours of labor and more than $12,000 in expenses. In addition, it provided more than 250 gas cylinders for use in the competitions.

The 10 winners of the various welding skills competitions received Matheson Select® welding gear and supplies donated by the company. The other participants in the welding skills competitions received coupons for discounts on future Matheson product purchases.

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations.
