NEMA publishes three arc welding standards

January 12, 2010

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published three arc welding standards in the ANSI/IEC 60974 series.

The standards are "Part 7: Torches"; "Part 11: Electrode Holders"; and "Part 12: Coupling Devices for Welding Cables." They join Parts 1, 2, 3, 5, and 8 of the series. Each adopts an IEC 60974 document as an American National Standard and includes U.S. differences as identified by the NEMA-administered ANSI Accredited Standards Committee W1.

The contents and scope of all ANSI/IEC standards may be viewed, or copies purchased, through NEMA's Web site.
