Second Lincoln Electric facility earns ISO 14001 certification

The Lincoln Electric Co. announced that its welding equipment, consumables, and automation manufacturing plant in Euclid, Ohio, has been certified to ISO 14001, an international standard for environmental management systems and procedures. The company's Mentor, Ohio, plant received ISO 14001 certification in 2002.

According to the company, Lincoln is the first manufacturer in the arc welding industry to achieve the certification for all of its major U.S. manufacturing operations. To gain certification, the Euclid plant underwent an independent assessment by ERM CVS, a global certification and verification company.

"Earning ISO 14001 certification reflects our commitment to meeting and exceeding rigorous standards of environmental, health, and safety practices that are important to us, the communities in which we operate, and our customers," said John M. Stropki, executive vice president and COO.

According to John Petkovsek, Lincoln's director of environmental health and safety, additional company facilities will seek certification in the near future.
