Techalloy appoints sales director, manager

Techalloy Welding Products, Baltimore, recently appointed Stan Merrick as director of sales—welding products, and Gary Powell as export technical sales manager.

With more than 20 years' experience in the welding industry, Merrick is responsible for sales of the company's stainless steel and nickel alloy welding wires and electrodes in North America. He joined the company 10 years ago as it marketing director and then added the role of regional sales manager. Before joining the company, he was a member of Teledyne McKay's research and development department and a product manager.

Merrick has a degree in metallurgy from Penn State University.

Powell's appointment as export technical sales manager reflects the increasing demand the company has found for its consumables outside North America, the company said..A graduate of Slippery Rock University, Powell has been with the company for 13 years, most recently serving as a product manager. Before joining the company, he spent 15 years both in welding distribution and with a welding shop that primarily served the power generation industry.
