Hobart forms scholarships

Peter C. Hobart, entrepreneur and board member of the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology, Troy, Ohio, has established two $1,000 scholarships for selected students to further their education in welding at the Institute.

Hobart has designated one scholarship as the David Smith Award for a promising artist and welded metal sculptor. The other scholarship has been designated the Peter C. Hobart Weldworld Award for international students dedicated to the basic industry of welding in his or her country.

Applications for these scholarships are due by April 1 of each year and can be obtained through The Troy Foundation, 910 W. Main St., Troy, OH, 45373.
