Press brake training now available on DVD
- February 10, 2009
- News Release
- Bending and Forming
Asma LLC, a provider of precision sheet metal training, now offers its press brake training through a series of DVDs. The 30- to 45-minute DVDs comprise the same material as Asma's full-day in-house program.
Each video covers different aspects of press brake operation—aspects that are relevant to operators, engineers, designers, and programmers. The first video in this easy-to-understand series, Bend Functions, explains what happens when you bend a piece of sheet metal and why it elongates. This video is followed by in-depth installments: The Press Brake and Methods; Press Brake Punches; Press Brake Dies; Press Brakes – Other Tools and Methods; Bottom Bending; and Press Brake Safety. While designed to be viewed as a series, each video functions as a stand-alone production.
This DVD press brake training, which can be more convenient than a standard in-house training program, can help operators prepare for the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), precision sheet metal certification —an industry touchstone.
This series and a sample video are available at Asma's Web site, www.asmachronicle.com. They also are available through the FMA Bookstore and Amazon.com.
