Elgin Fastener Group names vice president/quality

Elgin Fastener Group, Versailles, Ind., has promoted Terry Elkins to the position of vice president/quality.

Elkins joined the Ohio Rod Products division of Elgin Fastener Group as quality manager in August 2007 and recently completed a five-month stint as interim general manager of Elgin’s Chandler Products division in Cleveland. He previously served in quality and engineering positions with Syprus Technologies, Diamet Corp., Johnson Controls, and Neptco.

Elkins holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and an associate’s degree in material engineering from Purdue University. In his new position, he is responsible for all quality-related functions at each of the divisions of Elgin Fastener Group, including Six Sigma Black Belt training and implementation of lean manufacturing processes.

Elgin Fastener Group comprises four domestic fastener manufacturers (Ohio Rod Products, Leland Powell Fasteners, Chandler Products, and Precision Screw and Bolt) offering special, semistandard, and custom fasteners in many styles, sizes, materials, and finishes.
