Genesis Systems Group establishes robotic welding scholarship

Robotic workcell integrator Genesis Systems Group, Davenport, Iowa, has announced a new scholarship resulting from an agreement among Genesis Systems Group LLC, Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Engineering Program, and Scott County Schools.

The Andy Zinn-Genesis Systems Group scholarship is designed to encourage, support, and award students interested in a future career in the area of robotic welding systems and engineering. The $2,500 scholarship is awarded annually and is renewable for four years, for a total value of $10,000. Genesis Systems Group intends to award a four-year scholarship to one student each year for four years.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be a graduate of a high school in Scott County, Iowa; complete the job shadowing program with Genesis Systems Group before high school graduation; be enrolled in Project Lead the Way courses or a vocational area of study; and be enrolled in WIU's linkages program with EICC or BHC for the first two years of college and in WIU-Quad Cities for the third and fourth years.
