FANUC named top innovator by Forbes and Thomson Reuters

FANUC Corp., a diversified manufacturer of CNC systems, robots, and machine tools in Hoffman Estates, Ill., has announced that it has been named to Forbes® 2012 "The World's Most Innovative Companies" list and as one of the Thomson Reuters 2012 Top 100 Global InnovatorsSM.

The Forbes list recognizes corporations worldwide that are most likely to continue to succeed today and in the future. This list is based on a study completed by professors and advisers that calculates a company's value plus anticipated growth fueled by new, innovative products.

Thomson Reuters 2012 Top 100 Global Innovators program recognizes the world's most innovative organizations as measured by a series of proprietary, patent-related metrics. It is based on the principal criteria of overall patent volume, patent grant success rate, global reach of the portfolio, and patent influence as evidenced by citations.
