Adept Technology names vice president of global operations

Adept Technology, a Pleasanton, Calif.-based provider of robots, motion controllers, application-development software, and vision-guidance technology, has appointed Robert J. Malley Jr. as vice president of global operations. He is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the company’s worldwide operations.

Malley has 20 years of operations leadership experience with technology companies. Most recently he was COO for MDC Vacuum Products. Before that he was vice president of global materials and manufacturing at Intevac and served in executive and management roles at Applied Materials. He has a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
